I'll open the discussion.

I fucking loathe the idea of seeing my favorite movie of all time being ruined with a remake. Brandon Lee died during filming of the original, shouldn't it be left alone, to stand as a memorial of him? Also, the casting director should be slapped, Luke Evans is nowhere near a good fit for the character of Eric Draven, and the person who suggested they let Kristen Stewart try out for the part of Shelly Webster must have been smoking crack.

Here's a great idea, why not re-release the original in 3D like they did Titanic? Do it on Devil's Night, do a simultaneous premiere in both Detroit and in Wilmington, NC (where the original was filmed), and make a big deal out of it? They'd make a maximum profit for a minimum investment and bring in a whole new generation of fans?

They need to leave it alone. I feel remaking it kind of stomps on Brandon Lee's memory a bit. Sad

This movie is special to me. For reasons I won't discuss here (but my mods already know), it's very special to me. And it just needs to be left alone, damn it.

The movie is Brandon's legacy, just leave it be.

To me, it seems in really poor taste to remake a movie that a guy lost his life on the set of. It just doesn't seem right. I know that Hollywood in in this rebooting/remaking everything phase, but some movies just don't need to be remade. I think that this is one of them.

And I agree with Robin's original post.
